Seminars will run twice monthly on Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm.

Our seminars use a combo of Zoom and Shark Bridge, both of which are easy to use.

Seminars cost £15pp. This covers both the 2 hour seminar as well as a fantastic set of notes.

Upcoming Seminars

24th October 2026 – The Point of Pre-empting

This seminar will show you the aims and intentions of pre-empts, making sure that you know why we open and overcall weak hands and the correct times to do so.

7th November 2026 – Overcalling – Having your cake and eating it too

This seminar will show you how to deal with overcalls in a way which will allow you to interfere with opponents’ bidding if you are weak but look for a game contract if you are strong. This will allow you to find both good making contracts and good sacrifice contracts as well. We will cover pre-emptive responses to overcalls and unassuming cue bids. Highly recommended! 

21st November 2026 – Playing in No Trumps – Ducking

You may have come across the concept of ducking in NT before – it can often be the difference between making your contract or going off. We will examine what ducking is and why it works as well as when you should or should not duck.

5th December 2026 – Planning the Play in No Trumps

This seminar will give you the tools you need to properly plan a hand in a NT contract. Planning is vital to making your contracts on all but the most straightforward hands. We will look at identifying opportunities such as long suits and finesses, the correct order of play and danger signs to look out for.

19th December 2026 – Defending in No Trumps

Defence is always tricky. In this seminar we will think about opening leads (and why 4th highest is not always the best option!) as well as how to plan an effective defence against a NT contract after the opening lead. There is usually more information available for you to make your plan than you think!
